Oru West SOLAD, Ikenna Adikibe In Contract Scam, Involved In Extortion Of IMSUBEB Funds

Image
Still battling with the mess he finds himself by secretly obtaining the APC Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest for Chairmanship in the 21st September 2024 Council Polls in Imo State without officially resigning his appointment, Mr. Ikenna Adikibe, the Sole Administrator (SOLAD) of Oru West LGA, is at his dubious antics again. This time, he was accused of intending to swindle a registered contractor with IMSUBEB, who happens to be a Leader in Oru (North) West LGA. The Oru West SOLAD was alleged to have provided his personal account number with the United Bank for Africa (UBA): 1010104665, for the ongoing proposal to renovate Primary Schools in Imo State for a payment of #150,000.00 into his private account and not even the IGR account of the Council. This piece of information was revealed by one of the interested observers, who did not want her name in print, in Owerri on Wednesday. "The above is an extortion and dubious attempt to dupe a registered Contractor...

Ahaejiagamba, We Will MIss You- By Ikedi Ohakim

Image
It is said that there is never a better time to die but the passing unto eternal glory of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, AhaejiagambaNdigbo, a few days ago is an appropriate illustration of a brilliant actor quitting the stage while the spectators are still standing in loud ovation.   Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu had for over four decades been in national and international lime light, bestriding politics, business, sports etc  but the last few years of his life were apparently the most significant. The reason is simple.   Chief Iwuanyanwu lived the last stage of his life serving his own people–Ndigbo – after playing a dominant role in national politics and as an entrepreneur of international repute.  It is a rare thing, something everybody hankers for: to return home at the twilight of life to be and serve ones people.  Many in his caliber get stuck while seeking for more recognition and relevance outside.  Although a national icon, Chief Iw...

Imo 21st September 2024 LGA Elections: Why Should Oru West LGA SOLAD Keep His Aspiration And Ambition Top Secret?

Image
The last might not have been heard about the drama and dramatics that are unfolding in phases and the intention of some Chairmanship Aspirants and their aspirations in the forthcoming Local Government Council elections in Imo State . Like the man who authored the novel Behind the war front, the told and the untold stories surrounding purchase of Nomination and Expression of interest Forms of APC are intriguing, and more are yet to be heard and unfold from Orlu Zone. What happened in one of the Local Government Headquarters in Orlu Zone today is akin to that of a woman who told her Child not to tell her debtor that she was at home, only for the Child to say to the debtor that my mum said that I should tell you that she is not at home. As Aspirants from other Local Government Areas in Imo State are fighting boldly, openly and courageously, others lack the courage to even disclose that they have secured and purchased their Nomination Form(s). Confirmed reports and Information from t...

2027 Imo Governorship Race : Ohakim Remains The Pawn In The Chess Board.

Image
By Promise Onyewuchim I feel very humbled that our harmless letter to the leadership of Imo Council Of Elders in response to their clarion call for inputs on the Imo Charter Of Equity has drawn so much attention and infact became a reference topical discourse in Imo polity. Though the afore mentioned letter was highjacked by the fifth columnists and divulged to the press thus opened up all manner of discussions both for and against on the Imo Charter Of Equity. Up till this time no one has come up to contradict our position in that well researched piece which compared and contrasted Governorship sharing formulas in the southeast zone rather what we read from opponents of that position is tantrums. We are not surprised or perturbed because according to Socrates WHEN THE DEBATE IS LOST , INSULTS BECOME THE LOSER'S TOOL. But then, we thank God for our elders like ndaa Bob Njemanze, nda Paddy obinna and other fellow progressive minded Owere indigenes, these are men of Courage and Int...

David Mbamara:Why We Floated Another Political Group In Owerri Zone (INTERVIEW)

Image
Despite the existence of over five political pressure groups clamouring for Governor Hope Uzodimma’s sucesssor to emerge from Owerri zone in 2027, a former governorship candidate and co founder Owerri Zone Peoples Mandate, Capt David Mbamara in an interview with some journalists in Owerri, gives reasons why an Owerri zone group is canvassing for a governor from Okigwe zone, especially Ikedi Ohakim in 2027. Excepts: Q: You were an aspirant for the office of the governor of Imo state in 2023 on the platform of the Labour Party but failed to scale through at the primary. Do You have any regrets? I harbour no regrets at all. In every electoral contest, someone must emerge a winner Q: But the outcome of the election was very contentious; do you think your party presented its best candidate? Every one of the aspirants was the “best” to use your own words. As I have already said, a winner must emerge out of the all the best. That election has been won and lost and we move on. Q: Are you...

Imo State's Path To Progress: Governor Uzodimma's Grassroots Development Plan

Image
BY OCHIAGHA NNANNA OKERE Nigeria has 774 local government areas, each administered by a Local Government Council consisting of a chairman, who serves as the Chief Executive of the LGA, and other elected members known as Councillors.  These local authorities are multi-purpose bodies responsible for a wide range of services, including roads, traffic, planning, housing, economic and community development, environment, recreation, fire services, and maintaining the markets among others. Despite being the closest tier of government to the people, local governments in Nigeria have often failed to deliver essential services, leading to a loss of faith and trust among citizens. The ineffectiveness of local governments in service delivery is often attributed to their lack of autonomy. The issue of local government autonomy in Nigeria has been a recurring theme in national discourse.  The 1976 local government reform by the then military Head of State General Olusegun Obasanjo ai...
