Fear For Tinubu, Obi, And Atiku As The Tribunal Sets A Date For Its Decision Over The Presidential Election
The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) has reportedly decided to issue its final decision on the results of the 2023 presidential election on Saturday, September 16.
The PEPT is anticipated to rule on the lawsuit contesting President Bola Tinubu's election as the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s presidential candidate.
According to sources, the tribunal has chosen September 16 as the date for the ruling as of Monday, August 28.
One of the sources claims that the date was set by the five-member tribunal, which met at the Court of Appeal complex in Abuja from May 8 to August 1.
It was learned that the day serves as the tribunal's deadline for issuing its ruling.
The tribunal has until this date to rule on the three petitions filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), the Labour Party (LP), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their respective presidential candidates, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mr. Peter Obi, and Princess Chichi Ojei.
On the day when it will issue its decision, the tribunal has not yet made an official announcement.
