Former Senators, Governors, And Peter Obi Lose Their Abuja Properties After Wike Files A Revocation Order.
According to a report by The Nation, several famous Nigerians, including some former ministers, governors, non-serving senators, leading politicians, and others, have lost the land that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) had allotted to them in Abuja.
Due to failure to develop the property or violations of pertinent legislation, the revocation order was issued through a public notice and published as an advertorial.
Former governors and senators Liyel Imoke and Joshua Dariye are among those who are impacted. Dariye served as governor of Plateau State, while Imoke served as governor of Cross River State.
Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Kanu Agabi (SAN) and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi are also included on the list.
Properties given to now-deceased former public office holders, including the late Sam Nda-Isaiah, editor of the Leadership newspaper, the late Ufot Joseph Ekaette, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Olabiyi Durojaiye, were also cancelled.
In this batch, the FCTA cancelled 165 properties.
Additionally, several businesses have lost their landed properties. There are many of these, such as Trade Bank, Wema Bank, Julius Berger, and Pearl & Diamond Properties Limited.
The impacted homes are dispersed throughout the many FCT districts, including Utako, Katampe Extension, Idu Industrial Area, Asokoro, Jabi, Wuse, Wuye, Gudu, and Maitama.
