Nigerians Would Soon Be Informed About The Happenings In CBN- FG.

On Monday, the administration of President Bola Tinubu declared that Nigerians will soon learn what went wrong at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and how it harmed the country's economy.

The Federal Government disclosed this while announcing that the apex bank's audit report would be available soon.

The majority of Nigeria's issues, according to the Federal Government, are the result of poor leadership on the part of the country's leaders.

President Tinubu's choice to audit the Central Bank of Nigeria was praised by the administration.

Recall that Jim Obazee, the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, was nominated as the special investigator for the CBN by President Tinubu in a letter dated July 28, 2023.

The Special Investigator will directly report to the President's office, the President instructed the Special Investigator to look into CBN and other significant Government Business Entities.

According to the fundamental goal stated in Section 15(5) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) Constitution, the letter stated: "To further the fight against corruption, this administration is today appointing you as a Special Investigator, to investigate the CBN and Related Entities. You are to arrive at my office immediately in accordance with this appointment.

Speaking to reporters on the 63rd anniversary of Nigeria's independence, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, said Nigerians would know what went wrong and what led the country to its current situation.

The majority of the issues we are currently facing are the result of poor governance, he claimed. These issues have been and are still being faced by the current administration. At the CBN, President Bola Tinubu made a wise choice when he joined. As experts warned us, it could never happen in the previous 15 years, yet that one action resulted in a significant improvement in the stock market.

"We have a new team at the CBN and a special investigator has been in the CBN for quite some time now. His result will soon be released and Nigerians will know what really went wrong and what brought us to where we are today."

He said that no international leaders had been invited to Nigeria's 63rd anniversary of independence on October 1 because the country preferred a low-key commemoration.

Low-key celebrating has nothing to do with whether or not we're doing well, he said. Economic conditions are difficult; we are considering them not only on a national level but also on a family level. There are no world leaders here. We have not invited any foreign leaders; 53 world leaders attended the President's inauguration.

"As you are aware, in keeping with the current economic climate, the President has granted his consent for this 63rd anniversary to be low-key. The anniversary's slogan is "Nigeria @ 63, Renewed Hope for Unity & Prosperity."
