Nigeria @63: SSANU Requests Four Months Of Wage Withholding

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has demanded the release of the four months' withheld salaries of its members by the Federal Government.

This request comes after SSANU members went on strike in 2022, during which the government applied the "no-work-no-pay" rule and withheld salaries for approximately four months.

In a message marking Nigeria's Independence Anniversary, SSANU President Mohammed Ibrahim urged the government to release the withheld salaries and allocate the N50 billion Earned Allowances as outlined in the 2023 budget.

Despite the challenges, SSANU wished all Nigerians a happy 63rd Independence anniversary while mourning the loss of their Deputy General Secretary and other members who recently passed away
