Court Fires Julius Abure, Chairman Of LP

There is uncertainty as a result of Julius Abure's removal as chairman of the Labour Party by the Court of Appeal in Owerri on Thursday.

In the same ruling, the court also recognized Lamidi Apapa as the party's national chairman.

The court mandated that all governorship candidates created by the Apapa-led National Working Committee (NWC) in the states of Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi be recognized and published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) without delay.

The Imo State governorship candidate, Senator Athan Achonu, and other members of the Labour Party faction led by Abure were also expelled by the court.

Remember that Abure was confirmed as the chairman of LP on August 14 by the Court of Appeal in Benin, Edo State.
