Police Display A 400-Level Student For An Alleged Girlfriend Slaying In Edo.

On Tuesday, the Edo State Police Command paraded Victor Ochonogor, a self-described 400-level University of Port-Harcourt student and suspected online fraudster in connection with the alleged murder of his fiancée in Benin City.

Recall that a 'Yahoo boy' suspect was accused of fatally stabbing his lover Success Regha at his apartment in Benin City.

According to reports, the incident took place at 10 Osahon Street, Ogheghe Quarters, off Sapele Road, in Benin City. When the fighting started, Ochonogor and his deceased lover reportedly had already barricaded themselves inside the home.

It was discovered that Ochonogor's landlord informed the police about the horrific tragedy.

The incident was reported to the police on Monday, August 21, 2023 at around 4 p.m., the Commissioner of Police, Dankwara Mohammed stated, adding that the police sprang into action right away.

Speaking about the incident, the murder suspect, Ochonogor, 25, said he had been seeing his late girlfriend Success Regha for three years. He added that she had visited him in Benin from Asaba and accused him of being a kidnapper while they were there.

This accusation infuriated the self-described Uniport undergraduate majoring in Applied and Industrial Chemistry, he claimed.

"We had been dating for three years, and she recently accused me of kidnapping. I questioned her, "Why is she accusing me of such things when we have been together for so long?"

"Some of the members of her family know me very well, and I am not a kidnapper.

How is it possible for a kidnapper to date someone, they said when they accused me of being one?He rhetorically questioned.

Ochonogor said that he did not murder his lover because he was envious of her plans to wed another man.

According to Police Commissioner Dankwara Mohammed, there would be legal action taken in this case.

Mohammed also requests crucial information from the people so that authorities can stop crime and criminality in their tracks.

Mario Justus Chinonso Alozie" in  custody over allegations of homosexuality, but the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 5,2025 , for consideration of his bail.
