According to reports, military personnel in Gabon found suitcases and bags stuffed with different currencies in the home of former president Ali Bongo.
The money was discovered hours after the military seized control of the country following Bongo's reelection after serving as president for 14 years and put him under house arrest, according to information obtained by theglobalnewsupdates.
According to reports, Yann Ngulu, the chief of staff for Nourredine Bongo, the eldest son of the ousted president, found the money at his home.
The suitcases could be seen stuffed with bundles of CFA francs, dollars, and euros in the trending X video from Wednesday.
Omar Bongo, his father, ruled for 42 years. Due to the Bongo family's 56 years of rule, a coup was staged, which has since sparked criticism online.
