What Tinubu Said To Ministers At The Inaugural FEC Meeting

On Monday, all of the recently sworn-in ministers were present at the Aso Rock presidential villa to begin the first meeting of the Federal Executive Council of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's government.

The Ministers were congratulated by President Tinubu in his opening remarks, and he urged them to view their positions as a call to serve the people. The President stated that the ministers will be the conductors and he will be the bus driver, saying that Nigerians have high expectations for the cabinet.

"We must ensure that this nation's 200 million citizens prosper. The President reiterated that cabinet members would have the opportunity to develop their own solutions and re-engineer processes that would result in the availability of resources and make the economy work for the people. "I accepted the mandate and I have delegated the power to you to serve the country," he said.

"Your dictionary says that everything is conceivable, despite the cynics' claims to the contrary. We have the skills and ability to change the course of the nation. We are all aware that the current economy is struggling and that expectations are high. To build a sustainable economy that benefits all Nigerians, we must work hard and be dedicated.

"The unemployment rate in our country is reasonable. You have been chosen to make things better. There won't be any investments if there is no security. Investors must be persuaded, and the time to persuade them is now. Every leader in the globe is fighting for what they believe should be their own food security, Tinubu said, asking the ministers to remain focused and to consider themselves as part of a team. The administration prioritizes every area, he continued.

"In order to satisfy Nigerians, we must accomplish economic growth, feed our population, make the most of what we already have, and expand. Everything is now in your hands. I'm ready to hear you out.

"Only God is flawless; I'm ready for adjustments. Make decisions without hesitation; that is what leadership is all about. Think about the scenario where you are asked to gather water from a dry well. I'm excited to be the captain and driver of this ship, the President stated.
