Against At. Madrid, The Goalkeeper Scores A Late Equalizer.

In their Champions League debut, Lazio held Atletico Madrid to a draw with a late equalizer from goalie Ivan Provedel.

 The shot stopper went up to the Atletico Madrid box in a frantic final seconds of the game in an effort to save a draw in their competition debut.

With a few seconds left to play, Provedel sprang up for a last-second corner and skillfully headed Luis Alberto's cross into the net.

The Lazio players erupted in wild excitement as they rushed to embrace their improbable goal scorer.

Atletico had taken the lead in the first half thanks to Pablo Barrios' deflection goal.

After Alvaro Morata hit the post to keep Lazio in the match, Provedel produced many spectacular saves; he then made the pivotal play at the other end of the field to earn the Italians a draw.

Goalkeepers who have scored Champions League goals include Provedel, Vincent Enyeama, Sinan Bolat, and Jorg Butt (all three goals between 2000 and 2009 were on penalties).

 Only Bolat and he have ever scored from open play in goalkeeping. Additionally, Bolat scored an equalizer for Standard Liege versus AZ Alkmaar in the 95th minute.

Alleged Homosexuality:"Fr Mario Remanded In Correctional Center.

  An Owerri magestarate court, last week, Friday, remanded "Fr. Mario Justus Chinonso Alozie" in  custody over allegations of homosexuality, but the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 5,2025 , for consideration of his bail. "Fr.Mario"was arraigned before the magistrate presided by His Worship Doris Chukwuezi Ahanonu, on charges of -unnatural offence, contrary to section 214 of the Criminal Code; indecent treatment of boys under fourteen, contrary to section 216 of the Criminal Code and unlawful sexual interaction with a child, contrary to section 31, Child Rights Act,all related to homosexuality.
