Exclusive: After Being Fired As The Head Of The NDDC Board, Lauretta Onochie Fled To The UK But Got Stuck There And Ended Up Homeless; Embarrassed, Her Family Ejected Her

Theglobalnewsupdates has learned that Lauretta Onochie, the recently-retired Chairman of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is currently trapped and homeless in the United Kingdom.

After dismissing the management team led by Onochie, President Bola Tinubu authorized the nomination of a new board and management for the NDDC on Tuesday.

Theglobalnewsupdates was informed by numerous sources that Onochie left Nigeria for the UK shortly after being fired.

The financial scandals that plagued the NDDC while she served as chair may have had something to do with her decision to depart Nigeria.

When she arrived in the UK, she moved into her cousin's apartment in Barking Town, East London, but was turned down and removed from the building.

"Lauretta Onochie went to the UK, but she currently has nowhere to stay, leaving her destitute. It appears that she hadn't yet anticipated being let go. She was genuinely astonished by the President's choice.

According to a family member who talked to theglobalnewsupdates on the condition of anonymity, "she tried to force herself into her cousin's house in Salamanca Place, Barking Essex" after arriving in the UK.

Since she had nowhere else to go in the UK, she began to emotionally blackmail her cousin into letting her stay at his home. She claimed that she was a target of a witch hunt by the Tinubu government and that, for the time being, she needed to travel somewhere she couldn't be found.

When she was in power, this person abandoned her family; she didn't even know this cousin's kids until she visited him during the week. If you ask me, Karma began too soon; the entire Lauretta is currently homeless in the UK.

In one of the tapes that one online webite was able to collect, the cousin's daughter was harassing the former personal assistant digital/online media to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari who is currently stuck in the East London town.

"You can't remain in my house again, and I've told my dad to call the police once more. The cousin's daughter can be heard telling the visitor, "I don't know you, leave our house.

Who are you? the girl asked in another video. She came in today and is now bothering me; I don't know her.

The Senate confirmed Onochie as the actual Chairman of NDDC notwithstanding objections that were raised upon her appointment in December 2022.

She served as Buhari's Special Assistant for New Media prior to her appointment.

Onochie, who served as the NDDC board chair, was charged with breaking the law by repeatedly attempting to serve as the commission's accounting officer.

The Managing Director is the commission's top executive and accounting officer and is charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, as stated in Part IV (b) of the NDDC Act 2000.

The board is given legal authority to monitor NDDC management.

Onochie reportedly requested a mansion, several cars, and complete authority over contractors from the managing director, Samuel Ogbuku, according to a May internet report.

However, sources claim that her plea was denied.

"She wants to have total managerial authority over the executive management team, employees, and contractors. She wants to make decisions from a part-time, governing board perspective that is unknown to all civil service policies, the NDDC Establishment Act, the BPP, and the Ministry of the Niger Delta that oversees the organization to which we are accountable, according to a source who spoke to theglobalnewsupdates.
