First Loss For Inter Miami Since Messi's Arrival
For the first time since Lionel Messi's arrival, Inter Miami lost, falling 5-2 against Atlanta United on Saturday.
Due to his exclusion from the matchday roster, Messi himself did not participate in the game.
The hosts took a commanding lead in the first half thanks to goals from Tristan Muyumba, Brooks Lennon, and Kamal Miller's own goal.
In the second, Tyler Wolff and Georgios Giakoumakis each scored to give Atlanta the win. After the victory, they are currently ranked sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference.
Miami's 12-game stretch of being undefeated in all competitions came to an end as a result of two goals from Leonardo Campana.
Messi and Jordi Alba were excused from the game by Miami manager Gerardo "Tata" Martino due to "muscular fatigue."
