Four Siblings Perish In A Building Collapse In Enugu.
In the Mgbemena axis of Coal Camp in Enugu State's Agric Quarters, a building collapse has reportedly claimed the lives of four siblings.
The structure collapsed on Friday night at 8 pm following a significant downpour, according to the Chairman of the Enugu Capital Territory Development Agency (ECTDA), Uche Anya, who verified the occurrence to reporters, according to theglobalnewsupdates.
He claimed that the demolished building was intended for animal husbandry but was changed to housing since it was unsafe for people to live there.
Anya claimed that there were approximately 200 people living in the 44 rooms of the facility when she gave a tour of it on Saturday.
"We rushed to the location as soon as we received the intelligence," he claimed. During the incident, four kids perished.
"Danger was waiting to happen there. The building was done carelessly.
"Humans shouldn't have ever been allowed to occupy this space. Visit there to see for yourself.
There must have been more than 200 individuals living there, despite the fact that they claim to be engaged in animal husbandry and poultry. 44 of the rooms are occupied by people.
"The fence line was completely unacceptable; nobody does that, and regrettably, the victims of that tragedy were innocent children, which is very painful."
Residents of the property and four other nearby buildings were then given an immediate warning to vacate by Anya, who also promised that the agency he oversaw will make every effort to ensure landlord compliance with its policies.
