News Flash: Tribunal Fires Plateau PDP Lawmaker, Names LP Winner

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Barkin/Riyom Federal Constituency, Peter Gyengdeng, was not elected by the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Jos, Plateau State.

According to theglobalnewsupdates, the tribunal recognized Labour Party representative Fom Chollom as the duly elected representative for the constituency.

The tribunal's ruling was supported by a petition Chollom filed, which contested Gyengdeng's election on the grounds that the PDP had not legitimately nominated him.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was instructed to remove Gyengdeng's certificate of return and issue one to Chollom after the tribunal decided in Chollom's favor.
