President Tinubu Has Granted The Staff Of Federal Tertiary Institutions A Pay Increase.

 


For the personnel of all federal tertiary institutions, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved wage increases of 35% and 23%, which will take effect on January 1, 2023.

The notification was delivered in a memo from the office of the Auditor-General to Directors of Audit, Heads of Department, Heads of Units, and All Staff, according to theglobalnewsupdates.

According to the memo, the salary increase was approved by the Presidential Committee on Salaries at its thirteenth meeting after taking into account the various stages of collective bargaining in various industries, particularly the interactions between the Federal Ministry of Education and Tertiary Institutions-based Unions.

The following pay scales will be affected by the salary increase:

I. The Federal Polytechnics and Colleges of Education's Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS)

II. Non-academic Staff of Federal Universities' Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure II (CONTISS II)

III. Non-Academic Staff of Federal Polytechnics and Colleges of Education (CONTEDISS) of Consolidated Tertiary Education Institutions Salary Structure

IV. Academic Staff at Federal Universities' Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure II (CONUASS II)

The message further adds that wage increase arrears will start to be reimbursed on January 1, 2023.
