Remain Calm With Us, Chelsea's Coach Begs The Crowd BeforeThe Match Against Bournemouth.
Mauricio Pochettino, the coach of Chelsea, has pleaded with supporters to have patience with his youthful side after they only managed one Premier League victory in the 2023–2024 campaign.
Todd Boehly, the American owner, supported Pochettino wholeheartedly and spent €401.1 million on players during the summer transfer window in 2023.
Moises Caicedo, who joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion for an initial fee of €116 million (£100 million), was the most expensive player the club has ever acquired. Chelsea has signed a total of 11 players this summer.
Romeo Lavia arrived from Southampton for €68 million (£58 million), Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig for €60 million, Axel Disasi from AS Monaco for €45 million, and Lesley Ugochukwu from Stade Rennais for €27 million.
Chelsea has dropped two games this season, 3-1 to West Ham and 1-0 to Nottingham Forest, and is currently 12th in the standings.
"They were [once] young, too. John Terry was young, Frank Lampard was young, and (Didier) Drogba was young," stated Pochettino.
"You might realize that is a whole different pressure than I do. When I was at Tottenham or Southampton, I saw a different Chelsea than the one I see now.
"What I'm trying to say is that the fans want to win because in the past, Chelsea has typically done so.
"We need to speed up every step of the process, but I recognize that it is very different from previous steps.
"We have a young squad, of course, but we also have a different philosophy and way of thinking about the game."
