Sao Tome And Principe's Head Coach Claims That The Super Eagles Are The Second-Best Squad In Africa.

According to Sao Tome and Principe assistant coach William Barbosa, Nigeria has the second-best team in the continent. This is according to theglobalnewsupdates.com.

Barbosa saw Sunday's 6-0 rout of Sao Tome and Principe by the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Before the match, Nigeria had already earned a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Nevertheless, the Super Eagles stepped up their game as Victor Osimhen scored three goals in the crushing of the True Patriots.

Recall that Osimhen scored four goals and contributed two assists to help Nigeria defeat the same opponents 10-0 in the previous meeting.

The Napoli striker's seven goals against Sao Tome and Principe were crucial in helping the 24-year-old finish with ten goals to lead all scorers in the qualifiers. The Super Eagles finished the campaign with the greatest offensive thanks to their 22 goals scored.

Barbosa is amazed by the variety of skills at the head coach's disposal and believes that only Senegal, the current African champions, are superior to the Super Eagles.

According to Barbosa, who spoke to The Pledge, "Nigeria have some of the best players in Africa, quality players in top leagues around the world."

Nigeria now have the top team in Africa, ahead of Senegal.

Barbosa rates Senegal as the finest African squad, but according to FIFA, the Teranga Lions are actually ranked second, behind World Cup semifinalist Morocco.

  An Owerri magestarate court, last week, Friday, remanded "Fr. Mario Justus Chinonso Alozie" in  custody over allegations of homosexuality, but the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 5,2025 , for consideration of his bail. "Fr.Mario"was arraigned before the magistrate presided by His Worship Doris Chukwuezi Ahanonu, on charges of -unnatural offence, contrary to section 214 of the Criminal Code; indecent treatment of boys under fourteen, contrary to section 216 of the Criminal Code and unlawful sexual interaction with a child, contrary to section 31, Child Rights Act,all related to homosexuality.
