A Foundation Awards FCT Girls A N2 Million Scholarship.
The Girls Beyond Reach Foundation, also known as Daddy's Girls, has awarded scholarships to girls residing in Angwan-Shao, Karimo, a slum in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as part of their activities for the International Day of the Girl Child.
The scholarships, totaling N2 million, aim to provide these deserving girls with the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams and overcome socio-economic challenges that often hinder their progress.
Each girl has been awarded N150,000 per session, with the scholarship covering a period of four to five years depending on their course of study.
The foundation's commitment is to bridge the education gap for the girl-child and break the cycle of poverty through education.
They also have a mentorship program with a robust curriculum aimed at empowering and uplifting disadvantaged individuals.
The selection process for scholarship recipients was rigorous, considering academic merit, leadership potential, and commitment to community development.
The foundation hopes to set an example for philanthropy and empowerment, demonstrating that every investment in education is an investment in a brighter future for all, and encourages other NGOs to follow suit in supporting educational opportunities for girls.
