Brighton And Barcelona Are Vying For The Same Defender-Club Desires At Least €15 Million For The January Sale.
Brighton & Hove Albion's pursuit of Lucas Beraldo is facing competition from a formidable contender - Barcelona.
Journalist Gabriel Sá has reported that Barcelona has now expressed interest in the São Paulo defender and is planning to submit a formal bid at the end of the year.
São Paulo, however, is determined not to let Beraldo go easily and intends to keep him for as long as possible.
They are holding firm on their valuation of the player, despite the fact that he recently signed a new contract with a €60 million release clause.
Reportedly, São Paulo is seeking €15 million for his transfer.
Brighton made an attempt to sign Beraldo during the summer, offering €6 million.
Although the player has committed to a new contract, there are indications that Brighton may make another move for him during the January transfer window.
As of now, Beraldo's representatives have not been contacted by Barcelona, leaving the door open for potential negotiations between the two clubs.
It remains to be seen if Brighton and Barcelona will compete for the signing of this promising defender in the upcoming transfer window.
