News Flash: Wole Soyinka Was Rusticated And Didn't Finish School From UI

In a recent development, the Director of Research and Strategy of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that Nobel Prize winner Prof. Wole Soyinka was rusticated and did not graduate from the University of Ibadan (UI). 

According to the statement, Prof. Soyinka attended UI but cannot present a diploma from the institution due to his rustication and failure to complete his program.

This revelation comes amidst a dispute surrounding President Tinubu's academic record and an appeal brought before the Supreme Court. 

The focus of the controversy, as highlighted by Obaseki in an interview, is not whether Tinubu attended Chicago State University but whether he graduated or potentially falsified his diploma.

Obaseki drew a parallel with Prof. Wole Soyinka's situation at the University of Ibadan, where he attended but was unable to present a diploma due to rustication. 

The interview suggests that the primary concern is the authenticity of the certificate in question, with the school reportedly denying its recognition.

It's important to note that these claims and allegations may require further verification and investigation to establish their accuracy and implications.

  An Owerri magestarate court, last week, Friday, remanded "Fr. Mario Justus Chinonso Alozie" in  custody over allegations of homosexuality, but the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 5,2025 , for consideration of his bail. "Fr.Mario"was arraigned before the magistrate presided by His Worship Doris Chukwuezi Ahanonu, on charges of -unnatural offence, contrary to section 214 of the Criminal Code; indecent treatment of boys under fourteen, contrary to section 216 of the Criminal Code and unlawful sexual interaction with a child, contrary to section 31, Child Rights Act,all related to homosexuality.
