This move is intended to pave the way for constructive negotiations aimed at securing the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

As revealed by theglobalnewsupdates, Ohanaeze Ndigbo's statement underscores their foresight regarding confidential negotiations that hold the promise of Nnamdi Kanu regaining his freedom by the close of 2023.

  An Owerri magestarate court, last week, Friday, remanded "Fr. Mario Justus Chinonso Alozie" in  custody over allegations of homosexuality, but the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 5,2025 , for consideration of his bail. "Fr.Mario"was arraigned before the magistrate presided by His Worship Doris Chukwuezi Ahanonu, on charges of -unnatural offence, contrary to section 214 of the Criminal Code; indecent treatment of boys under fourteen, contrary to section 216 of the Criminal Code and unlawful sexual interaction with a child, contrary to section 31, Child Rights Act,all related to homosexuality. However, the court ruled that  it lacked jurisdiction to hear the case and ordered that the defendant be remanded in custody until the issue of considering his bail is resolved.
