Oil Minister Praises NCDMB For Creating An Oil And Gas Hub In Bayelsa

Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, commended the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for the ongoing Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGAPS) in Emeyal, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa. 

During his inspection of NOGAPS Gas Hub at Polaku in Yenagoa Local Government Area and NCDMB Power Plant at Elebele Ogbia LGA, he expressed his admiration for the progress.

The minister was particularly impressed by the concept of creating manufacturing hubs near oilfields, which has received support from oil and gas industry players. 

He noted that the completion of this park would not only benefit the oil industry but also the entire Nigerian economy by creating jobs.

The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Mr. Simbi Wabote, explained that the challenging terrain and topography, including floods, have been factors slowing down construction in Bayelsa. 

However, he remained optimistic that the facility would be ready for inauguration in the first quarter of 2024. 

The board is currently screening vendors who have shown interest in the project.

Alleged Homosexuality:"Fr Mario Remanded In Correctional Center.

  An Owerri magestarate court, last week, Friday, remanded "Fr. Mario Justus Chinonso Alozie" in  custody over allegations of homosexuality, but the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 5,2025 , for consideration of his bail. "Fr.Mario"was arraigned before the magistrate presided by His Worship Doris Chukwuezi Ahanonu, on charges of -unnatural offence, contrary to section 214 of the Criminal Code; indecent treatment of boys under fourteen, contrary to section 216 of the Criminal Code and unlawful sexual interaction with a child, contrary to section 31, Child Rights Act,all related to homosexuality. However, the court ruled that  it lacked jurisdiction to hear the case and ordered that the defendant be remanded in custody until the issue of considering his bail is resolved.   Indigenes of Umuihugba/Umuodu in Owerri Municipal Local Government Area of Imo State have formerly handed over a Site Project to the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for the installation of 229 Solar Powered Streetlights in the community. The Solar Powered Streetlights project was attracted by the APC candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency in the 2023 election, Hon.
