Six Southwest Governors Taking Significant Steps Towards Establishing A Regional Railway System
Governor Sanwoolu of Lagos state recently organized a "Strategic Meeting on Southwest Rail Infrastructure" among the governors of the zone.
The primary objective of this meeting was to harness the potential of a new law signed by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PBAT) that allows states to build and manage their own railway systems.
In line with this, the governors are optimistic about the feasibility of the project and have proposed regular meetings among the commissioners for Transportation from the six states.
These meetings will focus on developing a comprehensive plan for the regional railway system, taking into account the existing rail lines of the Federal Government.
This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing transportation infrastructure and connectivity within the Southwest region.
