FG Projects N26trn For The 2024 Budget

  The Federal Government of Nigeria has set a projected estimate of N26 trillion for the 2024 appropriation budget.  This plan includes submitting the proposal to the National Assembly before December 31, 2023.  The Minister of Planning and Budget, Atiku Bagudu, revealed this information after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja. Minister Bagudu was joined by other cabinet members, including the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Works and Housing, Dave Umahi; Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite; and Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong.    Employees of the Nigerian Postal Service have staged a protest by shutting down the service's head office in Abuja .  Their demonstration is in response to the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as the new Chief Executive Officer and Post Master General, which follows the removal of the former CEO, Sunday Adepoju, by President Bola Tinubu.  The President's decision to appoint new leadership in the communication, innovation, and digital economy sectors has sparked these protests within the postal service.

  In the Barclays Women's Championship, the top three teams all secured victories, and there were some standout performances in the latest matches: 1. Passport: The NIS Director Orders A Probe Into Alleged Misbehavior

   Acting  Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Caroline Adepoju, has taken a unique step in addressing complaints of alleged misconduct by NIS officers at various passport offices throughout the country.  In a statement from the Service Public Relations Officer, Dr. Adedotun Aridegbe, Adepoju expressed concern about this situation and promptly initiated an investigation, especially in cases of noncompliance with ministerial directives related to passport administration timelines. Adepoju highlighted that in alignment with the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo's directive, the NIS recently cleared passport application backlogs nationwide.  This resulted in a new timeline of two weeks for processing and issuing passports, as announced on October 4.  To ensure accountability and address any grievances, both the minister and the NIS provided contact numbers for the public to report any misconduct by NIS personnel at their offices...
